TESTIMONY - JANE WILLIAMSON, OCTOBER 2010

 

My name is Jane also known as Will’s mum.

 

I suppose I have always thought of myself as a Christian, but until about 3 years ago, I was a “back seat” one.

 

As a child, I went to Sunday School, church, confirmation classes, etc but generally I was going through the motions, and if I’m honest, it never really meant that much to me.

 

But since coming to this Church, and with God’s grace, I have found fellowship beyond measure and a faith in Jesus I never would have believed that I could

possess. In fact if it wasn’t for Jesus, I wouldn’t be able to stand here today!

 

I know that I still have a long way to go but with the Lords help I will get there.  Being baptised today is just another step forward on this journey.

 

I read a prayer the other day that I think sums up my aspirations;

 

“O Lord our God, grant us grace

To desire You with our whole heart

That so desiring we may seek and find You

And so finding You may love You

And loving You, may hate the sins

From which You have redeemed us”
