Using the natural example of a vineyard and how it is planned and nurtured, Jesus reminds us through this picture and allegory of how Father God cultivates, cleans and prunes us.
Through the hard times when we feel dry and dead, rather than complaining, or blaming an attack of the devil, maybe it's God pruning us and showing us that this is the time to push our roots down deeper into Jesus.
